Our next unit deals with fractions and fraction concepts.  Chapter 9 is: Number Theory and Fraction Concepts".  These are the skills we'll be working on 
   
   prime and composite numbers
   prime factorization
   greatest common factor
   least common multiple
   fractions and mixed numbers
   equivalent fractions and mixed numbers
   problem solving:  use logical reasoning
   relate fractions, mixed numbers, and decimals
   compare and order fractions and mixed numbers

We'll use the Mimio Interative White board for a few of these lessons.  It's a neat way to help the students understand the concepts with fractions.
